W, big tide so big chop and messy sea. I found conditions tricky, plus I added 0.5 deg shim and took quite a while to adapt pitch control. Eventually got gybes in and a few from toe - needed more speed but hard in chop. Mast at position 5, maybe 4.5 better as coming out of gybes with too much lift or maybe I need to weight forward earlier.
I wonder if worth keeping shim but John says as well as making less pitch stable it helps recovery through faster feedback, which I think I experienced.
